In the Waiting, We Work

While we wait for things to change, for borders to open, for restrictions to break, we work. We work because it is necessary. We work because it is good. We work because God calls us to be fruitful in our labors of love.

As the village mamas inspect their field, they watch for signs of change… Are the swarming locust coming? Will the rains be enough, or too much? Will there be enough to share? Can we keep standing when loss, evil and dangerous threats surround us? The book of James tells us, “Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen.” We live in tremulous times; requiring patience and earnest seeking the Lord of the harvest. Let’s not grow weary in well-doing; like these dear mamas, we will reap if we faint not. He is coming again.

As Steve makes bricks and sells them, he also teaches others the trade and shares about God’s provision for our bodies, souls and spirits. Please pray for Steve as he continues reaching out to his communities with income-generating projects and the love of Jesus.

Carolyne continues to carry the gospel message by loving her neighbors. She teaches them how to help communities that live in close proximity to safely care for sick loved ones. Please pray for continued safety and fruitful ministry for Carolyne and the communities she visits. May the love of Jesus continue to be evident in her outreach.
